Secretary of the Interior Claire O'Neill

According to the daily The Australian, Home Secretary Claire O'Neill announced that the visa system will be reformed so that international students who have completed university in Australia can stay in Australia. After graduating from an Australian university , you can obtain a Graduate Visa and be able to search for jobs or start a business for up to four years. However, this graduation visa, which can only be applied for after graduating from university, has a waiting period of up to eight months until the visa is issued, and there is no guarantee that you will be granted a visa, so many international students hesitate to apply for a graduation visa. Therefore, before graduating from university, the Australian government will allow students to apply for graduation visas in advance , to reduce this uncertainty.

They also decided to reform the permanent residency points system. The points system scores factors such as age, language ability, education, experience, and residence in Australia for those wishing to apply for Australian permanent residency. Out of 100 points, a minimum of 65 points is required to apply for permanent residency. However, even if there is a one-year age difference, the points for 39-year-olds and those aged 40 differ significantly, and based on criteria such as which region they studied, the score differences and detailed regulations differ significantly. Local media reported that by addressing these issues, the points system will be revamped to accurately identify people who can contribute to Australia.  If you are patient and wait a little longer, better opportunities might come!!
